Butterflies with Floral Patterns Watercolor Painting Online Workshop
Join me this Spring for my first online workshop! We will be painting butterflies with floral patterns using a mix of wet on wet and wet on dry watercolor techniques.
Many people have requested butterfly painting so letβs have some fun painting some floral filled butterflies!
Date: May 18, 2024
Time: 9:30am Arizona time
Where: Online ZOOM!. You will receive a replay if you canβt join live for 30 days.. you will receive the zoom link the day before the session
Description:
The style we will focus on is wet on wet but then to add in the small details it will be wet on dry painting. Butterflies look interesting with different patterns and color schemes, so for this workshop we will use spring flowers as the inspiration for the patterns!
Your creativity is waiting for you. all skill levels are welcome, yes that includes someone who has never touched a watercolor brush to someone who is a professional artist
I will send you an 8x10 outline pdf of the butterfly shapes, if you want them to reference or trace before the class onto your watercolor paper. This will help you focus solely on the painting portion OR you can freehand everything and see what magic you come up with!
Bring your own materials. I suggest: a variety of watercolor and/or gouache paints, watercolor sketchbook/coldpress watercolor paper, mix of round watercolor brushes: #2, #6, cloth or paper towel, 2 cups of water, and artist tape. If you need some inspiration for materials check out my youtube video https://youtu.be/EdQrL4giypE
The purpose of my workshops is to help you embrace your creative spirit and take creative chances together. In the process I want you to experience something new and have fun. This is why my workshops are open to all skill levels, so whether you have never picked up a paint brush or paint on the regular, I structure my classes to be open to all students.
Rachel graduated with her BFA in Painting and since has taught 1000βs of students how to create beautiful pieces through watercolor. She is a published author of "Watercolor Botanical Garden: A Modern Approach to Painting Bold Flowers, Plants, and Cacti" You can learn all about it and get your copy here
